I’m Amr Ali, from Alexandria, Egypt. And yes I am a hacker, now since this site is made first and foremost to share my articles, snippets, tools, ideas, and projects that some are considered pretty advanced, I’m tempted to not go into explaining the whole hacker thing, but since some of the audience might be uneducated about it, let me brief you what a hacker really is …

A hacker is a person that seeks knowledge, his curiosity is bluntly unstoppable, he might not sleep for days and finish 1 liter per hour of any drink, not because he is committing a crime and destroying peoples life’s, not because he is making this new virus that going to shutdown the whole internet infrastructure and knock satellites out of the sky, and definitely not because he is after this .gov or .mil server that he wants to get in and “plant his flag”. I’m not saying that a knowledgeable hacker couldn’t do any of that, he is actually capable of a lot more than just that, however, he would stay up day and night because he wants to “learn” about something and discover the inner workings of it, maybe twist it a little bit and see if that would make it work any better, or might end up with something far more interesting after all.

I can’t really explain what a hacker is except that he is a very friendly person, maybe someone that lives next to you without you even knowing about it. I might have just described hackers as I describe myself, and again, yes I am a hacker and totally proud of it, I love exploring and learning about everything that comes upon my sight.

Hacking isn’t just a computer thing, it’s a life style, it’s a methodology you live by, a hacker is everybody that brings innovation to reality, that could be anyone and everyone. And of course hackers are not people that hide in their rooms with lights off 24/7, they are very social and can actually attract the “spot light” pretty easily in any social group. Those so called _hackers_ you see in Hollywood movies are really not hackers, they are just some entertainment dolls used to scare you off or fascinate you about a very small special minority of people.

I think today’s media made a very good job at mixing the word “hackers” with “crackers”, and let me please clarify those two meanings for you my friend, a “hacker” as I described previously, is just a very smart innovative person that like to explore and learn about almost everything around him, in the other hand we have “crackers” which simply are a bunch of _skiddies_ (we mostly say skiddies instead of script kiddies, just because it sounds cool) that uses our hand made tools to cause complete and total mayhem for the sole purpose to be recognized among their peers and brag about the things they have done with our own work hence tools, codes, and what not.

Enough ranting, you will find all my articles, tools, and code snippets published on my blog, which you can find in the above tab “Blog”. My current projects or the projects I am a member of, going to be listed under the “Projects” tab with links if available. You should also check out the other tabs, I’ll not state the obvious so just check them out, they will help you to better navigate the site.

Feel free to contact me and send me your comments or any suggestions or whatever you feel like saying, I’d love to help out a lot, however, stupid, not Google’d, obnoxious, lame questions are going to be just ignored, and please no spam.
